The Milk House is a raw milk stop at Home Farm in Comberbach, near Northwich.
Unpasteurised, unhomogenised milk is sold through a vending machine and dispensed into reusable glass bottles, so regulars can skip the plastic, and everything sold is sourced locally.
Alongside the milk there are milkshakes in a long run of flavours, from classic chocolate to bubblegum, and homemade cakes join the shelves at weekends. The machine is open every day from early morning until evening.

Absolutely terrible place it is all lies they do not sell any milk just overpriced tubs of snugburys ice cream and overpriced hot drinks. Steer clear and just head to marbury park.
They don’t sell fresh milk or milkshakes anymore.

They don't sell milk!
I didn't want to have to leave a review but I sent a message last week which has unfortunately been ignored. Below is the message I sent, explaining the issue. "Morning! I hope you are well. I am writing to inform you of a health issue that may be linked to milk I bought from your vending machine on 13 December 2025. On 16 December 2025, I became significantly unwell. Due to recent travel at the time, I underwent medical testing at the Liverpool Tropical Health Hospital. I received the results two days ago, which confirmed that my illness was not related to travel, but instead was caused by food poisoning. The tests identified a bacterial strain commonly associated with unpasteurized milk (Campylobacter). Based on the incubation period of this bacteria and the timeline of my symptoms, the milk I bought on 13 December appears to be a likely source. I wanted to bring this to your attention so that you can investigate the matter on your end and take any necessary precautions. Given the potential public health implications, I would appreciate it if you could look into your supply and handling processes around that time. Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
Not what I was expecting at all. The vending machine had brownies and steak and sausages. We got some very delicious sausages. They have a coffee machine like the ones in hotels. And an ice cream vending machine but no milkshake (very dissimilar-16 Flavours advertised). We still tried the ice cream.
Its okay, but remember don't buy the big glass bottles thinking the machine will dispense the flavours with milk. Its only for if you want plain milk. Not sure why they have done this, ive been to other milk farms and you can by the big bottles for flavoured milk.
I use to come here weekly from Ellesmere port, it was worth the trip a few years ago. I came up over the weekend and although there's a slot for money the milkbot doesn't accept it, I tried multiple £1 coins and it kept spitting them out. The milkshake machine doesn't accept cash which is also a disappointment. There use to be plastic bottles to use and now there's glass only, what if you don't want to wash out and reuse a bottle? There use to be a phone number to call if you had any issues, now there's not! What do you do if you need help? I find the later part odd, what if the machine runs out of milk, what if it doesn't give you the right amount, what if an error occurs? I also find the milk tastes different in comparison to the other two raw milk places I go, not in a good way. Such a shame this has gone down hill as it use to be great and my kids enjoyed the milkshakes. I won't be returning anymore.
nice raw milk. After visiting boat lift and find lovely farm with fresh milk. just £1.6 for chocolate milk shake. If can offer small bottle for milk (empty bottle) that will be nice.
