Love that this place offers raw milk pick up! Such a cute spot with lots of local meats, eggs, produce and cheeses along with other hand crafted goodies. The workers are so sweet and helpful as well!
Best little health store in town. Has a great selection of cereal grains. Found Teff there when I had looked for it all over.
Love this place!
The store is convenient for my weekly grocery selection's. Before I discovered this store, I would shop at weekend only Urban markets or drive to meat and egg vendor’s outside of Houston. Central City Co-Op has a great selection of those vendors and more!!! The store offers a good selection of wines. Customer service is warm and friendly. I have always had a great experience while shopping. I am very happy to support local farmers and prepared food vendors. This is a Great Store for Houston, Texas!!!
Alternative grocery stores and I have a complicated relationship. They often want me to believe that wilted vegetables with trust-issues are “more wholesome” than crisp, vibrant ones. So I arrived here armed with skepticism… and low expectations. But: surprise! Inside, the groceries look like they’ve actually slept well. Excellent cheeses, proud-looking meats and fish, frozen and fresh goods that feel properly curated — a genuinely high-quality selection of vittles (yes, that’s the word). There’s also a second room full of charming nonprofit knick-knacks and refill stations for fancy soaps and detergents — the kind that make you feel morally superior just by smelling them. Why not five stars? Personal chemistry. Something about the vibe still whispers, “We recycle more earnestly than you do.” And maybe they’re right — but I don’t need my groceries judging me. Still: great products, thoughtful assortment, friendly humans. A solid four stars — even from someone who rarely bonds with co-ops.
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up

Was looking for farm raised meat and found this place. They have many other products that are organic or farm raised and locally sourced. Everyone is helpful when needed. Definitely recommend.
I've been getting my produce here for a couple of months now and feel so good knowing I'll be getting local, tasty, fresh produce whenever I need it. This co-op is super easy to work with and very flexible. We get plenty of fruits and veggies in each share to keep us cooking and eating well.
