Cheesetique is a specialty cheese shop and restaurant on Mt.
Vernon Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia. The shop stocks artisanal cheeses from producers near and far, while the restaurant side pairs them with a full comfort food menu and a carefully chosen wine list.
You can shop the counter in person, eat in, or order online for collection. The team also run tastings, pairing events and classes for anyone who wants to get to know their cheeses better. It is a cheese shop and eatery rather than a working farm, and a good doorway into small scale cheese.

Good spinach artichoke dip.
Very nice indeed. Thank you all so much. The cheese and avocado was so good.
Participated in a wine tasting and cheese pairing. Although I had been here before, I was pleasantly surprised by the private dining area. This location also has a nice bar and outdoor seating in quaint Del Ray.
If you’re looking for great quality cheeses of all sorts, high quality at reasonable prices, top notch caring customer service with your genuine satisfaction in mind, please do yourself a favor and visit and buy at Cheesetique on Mt. Vernon Ave., Alexandria, VA!! I purchased the incredible German variety grand noir blue cheese & a Cotswold! They treat you with respect, humility, and with a welcoming community spirit that makes you want to shop all day in their well-stocked shop/cafe. The owner and her staff are truly there to make a difference! Bless them and spread the word on this rare jewel of commerce. They are my preferred cheese shop in the D/M/V area and this past July 13th Tuesday was about my fifth visit.
this is definitely the spot that you wanna come to for brunch. They have good chicken and cheesy waffles but I promise you the waffles aren’t that cheesy lol so the savory and sweet taste actually works! It’s a little bit crowded to find parking, but I’m sure you’ll find street parking. the customer service everything and don’t forget to leave with a bottle of wine if you do drink this place is such a gem and I absolutely love it.
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up

Such a great experience from start to finish! I especially loved the unique wine and cheese selection in their specialty shop. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. That’s so important to me. You gotta try the chicken and cheesy waffles clothesline bacon, and their grapefruit brûlée for brunch. So delicious!!They give you so much food too! Definitely a spot I’d recommend for brunch, girls’ night, and date night. I’ll definitely be back!
Cheesetique is a true neighborhood gem and perfect for a date night, brunch, or happy hour with friends! I loved their wine flight, which at $20 for generous pours was such a good deal. They also feature savory favorites such as cheese boards (customizable) and fondue (generous servings, definitely enough for 4 people!). They even have a wine and cheese shop connected to the restaurant which features cheeses from around the world, and an impressive wine collection. You even get 10% off at the shop after you dine in!
As someone who lived in Napa Valley for years and recently moved to the DMV I have been on the search for a place like this. Great cheeses, a selection of wines that can get you excited to try something new, and a vast menu of cheesey options to pair. I went for brunch and I also have celiac disease. I found out they have handmade gluten free pasta that you can sub in for the truffle mac n cheesetique. Also they have gluten free bread and they will sear it in a pan to avoid cross contamination. I got the sassy goat it was great. I LOVED the market. They had incredible cheeses and you can talk to a cheesemonger who will walk you through their selections. They also have duck eggs from a local farm and their pimento cheese to go. Ricky & Charlie made for a great hospitable experience here. It is sad I don't live closer I would be in every week. I am going to also keep my eye out for the winemaker dinners. They have a private room in the back for hosting parties!
Wonderful experience on a Friday night! Cheesetique has amazing dishes but the quality of cheese and dairy products they use is phenomenal - you can taste the difference. Also purchased some meat and their well known pimento cheese in the shop - made some delicious sandwiches at home.
