Sparkenhoe Farm at Upton in Leicestershire belongs to the Clarke family, who have farmed this corner of the county for generations and make cheese as the Leicestershire Handmade Cheese Co.
Their pedigree Holstein-Friesian cows graze a diversity of pastures, and the family pay close attention to the soil and the delicate ecosystem it supports. The milk becomes raw milk cheeses, including Sparkenhoe Red Leicester and Sparkenhoe Blue.
On the farm there is a tea room and cheese shop, open Wednesday to Saturday from 9am to 2.30pm, and the online shop ships the full range, from single cheeses to cheese boxes and wedding cheese cakes. Wool from the farm's Romney sheep is sold as well.

Amazing! Had blue scone, never had before. Didn’t mind the wait as they were extremely busy. Staff were pleasant and vibrant.

Cheese heaven in a lovely corner of Leicestershire. They sell bread eggs and milk as well but it’s the cheese that really draws you in.

Excellent cheese choices. Wine, milk, eggs, olives also on sale. Coffee shop sells light snacks too.
