Prairie Foods is a private buying club founded by Daniel and Lydia Allgyer, an Amish farming family in Indiana, Pennsylvania who brought animals back onto their land in 2017 after clean food from regenerative farms helped resolve their family's health problems.
The club gathers like minded plain sect Amish and Mennonite farms that raise food free from pesticides, herbicides, vaccines, wormers, growth hormones and GMOs, farming regeneratively to rebuild their soils.
The dairy is 100% grass fed A2A2 and truly raw: milk and cream are never heated, fermented dairy stays under 110F, and milk is tested monthly. Alongside it the club offers 100% grass fed and finished beef and lamb, pastured corn and soy free chicken and turkey, forest raised pork, free range eggs, raw honey, maple syrup, chemical free breads and flour, fresh and fermented produce and handmade kefir. Orders ship to the lower 48 states in sustainable packaging or collect from pickup points around Cleveland.

We ordered cheese, raw cream and keffir from Prairie Foods. The first order came damaged due to improper packaging. The ice was all melted so the cream was ruined, as was the keffir. The cheese survived and tasted fantastic. I called the owner to explain the situation and he politely resent the two keffirs and cream. This time he added a dry ice strip but it was melted by the time we got it and both containers of keffir were bad. The cream, however, survived, and was stunningly delicious. We made saffron, cardamom and rosewater ice cream with it that is phenomenal. I called the owner again, almost apologetic, as I felt bad that on two different occasions the keffir was ruined in transit. He didn't answer so I left a voice mail and never heard back. My suggestion if you order from this farm is to only do so if you're within a day's delivery. The cream and cheese are both fantastic but I regrettably can't speak on the keffir as what I received was a sour, bitter, briny mess.

Prairie Foods Farm is the real deal. This is genuine farm-to-table food that's clean, naturally raised, and thoughtfully produced outside the industrial food system. Everything we've purchased has been exceptionally fresh, delicious, and incredibly nutrient-dense. Knowing where our food comes from and how it's raised gives us real peace of mind. We couldn't be happier. Food, as God intended!
