About the farm
Honey Glen is a treatment free apiary in Salem, West Virginia producing raw, unfiltered mountain forest honey and selling nucleus colonies and queens bred from its own genetics.
Honey Glen produces mountain forest honey in north central West Virginia, from bees foraging steep hillsides covered in wild plants. The honey is raw by the strictest standards, never taken above natural hive temperatures, and strained rather than filtered, so the local pollen stays in. The colonies are kept without chemical miticides or antibiotics, managed through genetics and nutrition instead.
Jars are sold through local stores, with a where to buy list on the website, and crystallised honey is offered as a delicacy in its own right. Honey Glen also sells nucleus colonies from its own stock and runs a beekeeping course for those starting out.
