Their meats are fantastic But £8 for a sausage roll? Wise up! I was told it was because it was their own meat and home made ketchup Was served with some leaves and grated carrot It was tasty but I would never buy it again How they justify £8 for a small sausage roll is beyond me Buy their meat but don’t go to the cafe.
Wonderful to see such a thoughtful approach to farm to fork eating. The Cafe is rustic and charming and the food is delicious. This is a working farm with many educational opportunities.
Ate in the farm shop.Very poor value fry up for £10 To be honest i wouldn't have eaten there if I visited the animals first was shocked at small pens calves were kept in.The bigger cows were up to knees in mud and filth.
I love a good farm shop and this is a good farm shop! It has great produce from their own farm and other bits and pieces from across the island. There is so much more to it than a farm shop with tours, supper clubs etc, check out the website. We did buy some produce, burgers, sausages and goat chops which I am very much looking forward to cooking and eating. Well worth the trip!
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
Lovely, sustainable farming and well looked after animals. We have visited several times with kids and grandparents. We also really love the cafe - especially recommend the full fry made with local products, the baking (lemon poppyseed cakes, brownies and scones were all lovely) and great coffee and service. If you arrived at 11am (opening), you might wait a bit for food, but it’s well worth the wait!
We had the pleasure of visiting Millie and Charlie and the whole family of kids!!! I brought a group of 70 university students for lunch and a tour. It was fantastic. It’s a small family run farm where we got to see about 100 goats from brand new, to nursery, pre-schoolers and even an old folk goat. The kids were lively and interactive wanting to nip your clothes and be petted. We got a great tour. We had a super lunch of rose veal burgers and the veggies had homemade nachos. Yum! The beautiful restored outhouse which is the kitchen allowed us to eat indoors as well as some seating outside. To top it all off their serving containers are all biodegradable so after we leave they composite all our waste. Educational, fun and tasty visit for groups & families.. Thanks a million for a great experience.
