I'm here every week. They keep the store well-stocked and have friendly folks running the shop. They carry Ramona Farms products, which are the base of my diet, so it's nice to be able to grab those from here when I'm running low. My least favorite part is the parking - they offer parking validation (so it ends up being free), but you have to sign up for a different app than the other downtown parking, and it starts at $6.99 for an hour!! However, the parking lot itself is very convenient! Coming in the back door makes things pretty simple. Don't forget to scan your validation QR code at checkout so you don't get hit with $7 parking.
Loved it, all kinds of things you can't get at the Chain stores.
Beautiful healthfood store with many organic choices. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Hot & cold food bar with baked goods made fresh. Highly recommended.
This is a great store! All of the employees are super helpful. I walked from my hotel to stock up on as many healthy food options as I could carry. I was thrilled to find a variety of tasty greens, veggies, and fruits for my to-go meals.
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
The first time I came to the co-op was in 1976. It was a little hole in the wall. It has grown a lot. Most of the food there is overpriced and that is due to the location. They recently remodeled to have a back entrance. OK it’s nice but there’s nowhere to park unless you want to pay to park and I don’t I can’t. I can’t afford it so I parked in their gravel parking lot today. There was a guy hanging around staring at me and he was kind of creepy actually. He kept pacing back-and-forth and staring and smiling, and I would kinda look at him without him noticing me look at him. It was just freaking weird. I locked my doors and put my visor down, so I wouldn’t see him. I stayed in my car. He made me feel unsafe cause he kept staring at me. He was staring and staring. I didn’t know what was wrong with him. It creeped me out he kept walking back-and-forth, staring and staring. Then a guy came and parked right next to me a bit too close nobody could’ve gotten out of my car on the other side. they had a little conversation between themselves pointing at each other and talking whatever. I put my window down and told the guy that one is really creepy and he said oh it’s because he doesn’t want you to park here, you cannot park here. I said can’t afford to pay to park and he very sharply snapped that is not our problem!. I was shocked! I didn’t expect to be treated that rudely things have been really bad for me lately financially I don’t have dollars to give the city just to park and go in and grab a quick bite to eat. I won’t be going back there, and I never thought I would say that because I love their organic food even though it cost too much and their small selection of vegan food that I can go and get it it’s ok, not anything to brag about. However, not anymore not after being treated so rude. I was like what the heck is wrong with these people why is it bothering them so much that I would park on their gravel lot for like five or 10 minutes to go get some food and run back out and leave? I can’t be around people like that! If you’re rude to customers, you won’t have them anymore.
Im a fan of a good co-op! I was in town for work and ran by this place. Great food and produce selection. I got a smoothie and an avocado and it was perfect. Spacious seating area outside as well!
Good selection, concept, location. Locally grown food. Good hours of operation for morning and evening customers. Parking in back now requires QR code compliance. For me, that is perplexing. I think QR codes are fine if optional and beneficial for those who offer/use them. But to require QR to park? Too close to 666 code required to buy or sell. The co-op's board of directors have a good Web site. But it refuses email contact from non members. I can share why the -3 stars if there is a request. It is not the quality of merchandise offered for sale. If you are on foot in the area, and have the means, the 4th Ave co op as a good place to find ready-to-eat, quality food. There's a shaded area outside to dine, and restroom for customers. Serious shoppers can find specialty tems here, especially in the bulk dry goods and Herbs.
They have a really good selection of all types of groceries, especially vegetables, and international cuisines. Vegan and organic selections 💯. I love their selection of bulk purchases as well! Might be pricey for students on a tight budget, but they offer discounts on Mondays and Tuesdays. The location of the store, especially it being right next to a tram station definitely makes it a convenient option for students at the university.
