Worth It Farms is a rare breed conservation farm on Hutcheson Ferry Road in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia.
Its Real Milk directory listing describes the largest herd of endangered British Guernsey goats in the Southeast, kept alongside Cotton Patch geese, Ancona ducks and Dorking chickens. The goats are rotated between fresh pasture and a dry lot to control parasites naturally and supplemented with legume hay and locally milled dairy goat rations, and the farm states it uses no hormones, no antibiotics, no vaccines, no coccidiostats, no disbudding and no chemical dewormer unless medically necessary, worming instead with herbs and forage based products.
The farm's own answer to saving a rare breed is to make it useful again on the family farm, so it sells breeding stock from a current list of named animals and runs farm tours, classes and workshops covering goat care and nutrition, poultry care and nutrition, home fermentation, home cheese making and sourdough bread making. Its milk is chilled in stainless steel containers and bottled in reusable glass, and the farm is listed in the Real Milk raw dairy directory. That listing also states that in Georgia the milk is sold under a pet feed licence rather than for human consumption.
