Kool Kids Ranch

Alongside the animals they run a farm school for school age children, with hands on days on agriculture, animal care and sustainability, homework help, and a bottle feeding program that lets children look after the young stock themselves. A team led by Cheryl runs it. The farm also trains service dogs and puppies under the Kool Paws name, right through to full public access work.

What they sell comes off the farm and out of their own kitchen. There are farm fresh eggs from hens fed a non GMO, corn and soy free ration, whole Cornish Cross chickens, beef tallow and pork lard put up under their own label, and Kool Cows ice cream, made for them locally by the Hoch Family Creamery in Sparks. The Beef Share program runs in whole, half, quarter and eighth shares, vacuum sealed and labelled to your chosen cuts, and the customer picks grain finished or grass finished beef, both free from antibiotics and added hormones. Their raw goat milk and raw A2 cow milk are unpasteurised and sold by pre-order as animal feed for cats and dogs, tinted with food grade charcoal to meet Nevada rules, and the same milk and meat go into raw dog food, bone marrow broth, goat soap and tallow balms. Beef shares can be collected or delivered locally.
