Hershey Harvest is a family farm store in Laureldale, Pennsylvania selling raw A2 milk from grain free Brown Swiss cows, lifetime grazed Braunvieh beef, eggs and homemade foods.
Hershey Harvest is Robert and Debbie Hershey's farm store in Laureldale, Pennsylvania, backed by their own Lancaster County farm.
The farm is home to Fullblood Braunvieh cattle that graze native heritage grass for their entire life span, and to Brown Swiss dairy cows that are never fed any grain and produce a full bodied raw A2 milk. Hanna's hens, with plenty of open room and sunshine, supply the eggs.
Debbie's commercial kitchen at the family farmhouse cooks the homemade line the store is known for, from chicken pot pie and beef vegetable pie to stews, chilis and barbecue, and the shop runs a full deli of meats and cheeses. The Hersheys opened their first store in 1986 and moved to the present Laureldale location in 1998, and the same retail management team has served Berks County customers since 1988. Open Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm, closed Sunday.

Expensive.

I stopped in here to take a peek, I kept seeing commercials about the meats and meals. So far I tried the Greek pasta salad, it get a 10. I also bought the chicken thighs, and some sliced turkey, also very good. Prices aren't bad for what your getting, regular old fashioned tasty and pure food. Ill be back. Staff is helpful and welcoming and friendly.

Tried the heritage raw milk at this great local store, and it's pretty good! The store's milk and more dairy foods are from Robert Hershey's own authentically local farm, while various freezers in the store are packed with local meats. It also has shelves with homemade baked goodies, and a variety of more foods. By the way, Hershey Harvest is obviously named after the owner and is a local labor of love (it's completely unrelated to the chocolate giant). And speaking of.. I believe local businesses like his that are dedicated to local, can flourish in local regions everywhere and can challenge the giants. Hope you feel the same, despite the odds, dear reader.
