The best farms

  1. 1Hiltonbury JerseysHiltonbury JerseysButcher in Winchester4.7 (172 reviews)Hiltonbury Jerseys is a small family run dairy farm at Compton in Winchester, milking around 140 prize winning pedigree Jersey cows on Hampshire grass. The milk is sold raw or pasteurised and is never standardised or homogenised, so the rich, creamy Jersey flavour survives the journey from cow to bottle. The farm shop sells the milk and cream alongside Jersey ice cream, fudge, Jersey beef, free range eggs, baked goods, local honey and jams, and even a raw Jersey milk soap. It opens seven days a week from 10am to 4pm, with raw milk available from 11am to 3.45pm.
  2. 2Daisy Meadow DairyDaisy Meadow DairyRaw milk farm in Southampton4.8 (90 reviews)Daisy Meadow Dairy is an independent, family run micro dairy at Newhouse Farm in Botley, near Southampton. The family are first generation farmers building a herd of pedigree Jersey cows, each one named and known, out at grass as much as possible, and the dairy is a member of the Raw Milk Producers Association. Raw and gently pasteurised Jersey milk is sold in returnable glass bottles from The Milkin Shed at the farm, open daily from 7am to 7pm, along with the farm's own ice cream and milkshakes, chicken and duck eggs, honey from hives on the farm and cakes baked by the family's daughter. The shed also stocks produce from other makers across Hampshire, the New Forest and the Isle of Wight, and takes cash and card.
  3. 3Higglers Farm Micro DairyHigglers Farm Micro DairyRaw milk farm in Fareham4.8 (58 reviews)Higglers Farm Micro Dairy is a small off grid farm at Wickham, near Fareham, producing raw milk and grass fed beef in a traditional, sustainable way. The milk comes from a little herd of Jersey cows, affectionately known as the Jersey Girls, who graze clover pastures and turn them into rich, minimally processed milk. Milk and beef are sold at the farm, which is open six days a week and closed on Wednesdays. Through the year the farm also runs community events such as lambing season tours, where visitors can help bottle feed the lambs while raising money for charitable causes.
