I’m very picky about meat and this butcher is really great. It’s the only in the UK that I know of doing real Highland beef and it is on another level. The lamb and mutton are superb, especially the native breeds, and the game selection is excellent with good pricing. I genuinely hope they thrive because I don’t want to live in a world where everything is Angus.
Came across their shop by chance and loved the window display which shows a range of cuts of variously aged beef. Inside I was guided by a very knowledgeable young man who listened to what I wanted and then supplied me with a beautiful six week dry cured rump at a very reasonable price. Had it last night and have to say it was absolutely fantastic. Succulent, full of flavour and perfect texture. One of the best rump steaks I have had in a very, very long time. People taking pride in what they produce should always be supported. Easy enough when the end result is as good as Macbeth’s.
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
It was our first time having a joint from Macbeth’s after moving up to ScotlandI. I cannot believe the quality of the 3 rib aged beef joint we had. Tender, melt in the mouth and so tasty. We will be back and wonderful to find such highly quality meat so near to us. Thank you!
