Ebbor Gorge Beef at Ebbor Grove Farm, Priddy in the Somerset Mendips sells 100% Pasture for Life certified grass fed Ruby Red beef from cattle born and raised on its organic pasture.
Ebbor Gorge Beef raises native Ruby Red cattle on low input organic pasture at Ebbor Grove Farm on Pelting Drove, high in the Mendip Hills above Wells in Somerset.
The beef is 100% Pasture for Life certified grass fed, and the farm only sells meat from cattle that have been born and lived all their lives on the farm. Rotational grazing moves the Ruby Reds through the woods and fields in every season, in every kind of Mendip weather.
The farm works with nature mostly by not doing: no synthetic fertilisers, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides or wormers, no ploughing to disturb the soil, wild flowers and herbs encouraged in the pastures, and belts of trees and shrubs planted for shelter and food. Around six to seven slow grown animals are sold each year, tender, succulent and high in omega 3, and the beef is collected from the farm by arrangement rather than sent by courier.

First experience of camping, really enjoyed the site - had very good neighbours and could park up by the pitch which was perfect. Extremely well priced and just a short walk to the Queen Victoria public house, also had lovely sunsets on Deers Leap just down the road again walking distance. Facilities basic with standpipes and composting loos but great as a stop off for a couple of nights,
They also have a camping site, which is environmentally friendly.
Proper back to basics camping, if you want to get away and switch off this place is great. It’s almost wild camping with toilets although they are compost ones but that’s not really an issue. Right on top of the Mendips with good walks and stunning scenery close by.
