Springtree Dexters

The first Dexters arrived in 2015, chosen as the smallest of the native British cattle breeds so that wildlife friendly farming could continue on the farm's relatively wet land.

The farm and herd are certified organic with the Soil Association, and the beef is certified 100% pasture fed with Pasture for Life. The herd lives as one big family group for most of the year, free ranging across 60 acres of rich, biodiverse pasture that provides all its nutritional needs, coming inside only for the wettest winter weeks to be fed home produced hay. Stocking density is kept low, and the beef is sold direct from the farm as great value boxes of joints, steak and mince, alongside individual cuts.
