Foundry Farms

The Reids, Joe and Megan, keep mini Jersey cattle, Cornish cross chickens, pigs and a large garden on their small homestead, and alongside the farming Joe pastors their church while Megan homeschools their four daughters. The Kings, Chance and Stephanie, met at Auburn and held on to the idea of a small farm through Chance's years in the Army. They now farm the other half of Foundry Farms, and the two families run it together under one name.

The birds are raised entirely outdoors on pasture and moved regularly onto fresh ground, and the farm says plainly that it never uses antibiotics or growth promoters, because healthy birds come from a clean, low stress, open air life. Chickens are processed on site in small batches using a kill cone so the bird bleeds out fully, rather than by industrial stunning. Their own shop sells whole pasture raised chickens and chicken cuts, chicken bone broth, A2 raw milk, cream and skim milk from the Jerseys, seasonal fruit and microgreens, and soap made in their own homes.
