Peterson's Groves and Nursery is a family citrus farm in Vero Beach, Florida, growing and shipping Indian River oranges, grapefruit and Honeybells with a farm stand and gift shop.
Peterson's Groves and Nursery sits on land in Indian River County, Florida that was owned and tended by the Peterson family from 1913, and is now run by Eric and Tiffany Barkwell, another local citrus family.
The historic citrus packing house is one of the oldest in the county, and the farm ships prize winning Indian River citrus grown in its own groves: seedless Navel oranges, Ruby Red and other grapefruits, tangerines, Temple oranges and the famous January Honeybells, so juicy a bib comes in every shipment. The season runs November through May, with Valencias and grapefruit squeezed for fresh juice into the summer.
A visit is a step back in time, with farm animals, a squirrel treasure hunt for children, samples of seasonal fruit and fresh squeezed orange juice, and a gift shop stocked with gourmet dressings, local honey, farm fresh eggs and produce, marmalades and Florida taffy. The farm stand, open since 2017, sells seasonal, fresh and locally sourced produce from juicy citrus to heirloom tomatoes, and a Fruit of the Month Club ships the season's varieties across the year.

We stop in pretty regularly for cheese curds. They have a great collection of fresh vegetable choices as well. Worth the stop!

I haven't been here in awhile but I was surprised to see what a beautiful expansion this once small farmstand has created. The nursery is beautiful and plentiful. The farm stand is quaint and the fruit and vegetables are displayed in such a delectable way you just want to buy everything. The pottery is unique and gorgeous. In the back there are two cute pigs and roosters. They were so funny. I really wanted to buy everything. You probably will as well. I definitely recommend a visit for not just fruits and vegetables but for plants and trees as well. Wonderful job, Peterson's Grove & Nursery!
