The Guernsey Depot is the farm store of Dogwood Lane Dairy in Chestertown, Maryland, selling raw A2A2 pet milk, raw cheese, butter, eggs and pastured beef from a pasture kept Guernsey herd.
The Guernsey Depot is the farm store of Dogwood Lane Dairy, a family Guernsey dairy in Worton, Maryland, where the family has been milking cows since 1923.
John Christian started with Guernsey cows and the herd today descends from those originals. The small, 100 percent registered Guernsey herd was certified fully A2A2 in late 2022, and the cows are pasture kept around the clock with bedded sheds for comfort. All of their feed is grown on the farm, with hay, silage and a little home grown grain carrying them through winter when the grass goes dormant.
Third generation farmers John and Kathy Myers and their sons direct market the golden Guernsey produce through the Depot, weekly home delivery across Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot counties, and farmers markets in Maryland and Washington DC. The range covers more than 15 varieties of cheese including raw aged cheese, golden A2A2 butter, chicken and duck eggs, pasture kept beef, milk and tallow soaps, and freeze dried treats for dogs. The store opens Fridays and Saturdays, and farm visits are by appointment only for biosecurity.

I really like the place.

Stopped there yesterday and asked a few questions of the lady working and maybe she was in a hurry, but she didn’t have time for me. So I left. It was not the kind of experience I was expecting to have. I was surprised to see this business- I had not noticed it before and I stopped in to look. Maybe she was frustrated I wasn’t in to purchase. Hopefully I’ll have another opportunity to stop there, have a better experience and can update the results.

Excellent selection of fresh farm and dairy products. The cheese and butter is the best I've ever had! The apple butter bbq sauce is great! I also highly recommend the meats. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
