About the farm
Burntwood Farm near Winchester, Hampshire raises a 100 strong suckler herd outdoors year round, certified 100% Pasture Fed, selling grass fed beef for farm collection and local delivery.
Burntwood Farm at Martyr Worthy near Winchester keeps a suckler herd of over 100 cattle and manages them to live as close to a natural herd of ruminants as possible: outside all year round, in one big herd, grazing native grasses, legumes, shrubs and trees with minimal intervention. Calves stay with their mothers for as long as possible, and the farm's motto is simply eat beef, be happy. The cattle are certified 100% Pasture Fed through the Pasture for Life Association.
The land tells the same story. The farm is converting to organic through the Soil Association, with no fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides sprayed since September 2022, and its grasslands have been verified as regenerating under the Savory Institute's Ecological Outcome Verification protocol. The beef, all 100% grass fed and frozen to hold its freshness, sells through the farm's own online shop as burgers, mince, joints and steaks, collected from the farm or delivered locally to the Winchester area postcodes SO21 to SO24.
