Dairy farmer
Runs the dairy side of the farm with her husband Stan. The family has farmed Hayling Island for over a hundred years.
Northney Farm Tea Rooms is a family tea room on a working dairy farm on Hayling Island, Hampshire, selling ice cream and bottled semi skimmed milk from its own herd.
Northney Farm Tea Rooms sits on a working dairy farm in Northney village on Hayling Island, run by the same family that has farmed the island for over a hundred years.
Mary and her husband Stan run the dairy side of the farm, milking a herd of 120 pedigree Ayrshire cows, while Mary's brother Simon runs the arable side and the farm shop. Some of the herd is crossed with the farm's Aberdeen Angus bull to produce beef cattle alongside the dairy operation.
Mary and Stan's son Tim set up Northney Dairy Ltd in 2008 and began making ice cream from the farm's own milk, and the dairy now also bottles semi skimmed milk. Both are sold in the tea rooms his brother James runs on the farm, where tables in the garden look out over the fields and the cattle. The drinking milk on sale is described by the farm as semi skimmed and bottled.

Had a good meal there and they treated us well for my big birthday.i.
Have eaten lunch here many times. Beautiful location (especially if the cows come close), great food and the welcome is always warm. Had my first breakfast here today, vegetarian full, and it was delicious, thank you.

Amazing place we have been once before a few years ago and today stopped on our way home from Poole the lady who served us was wonderful happy and so helpful with food for my son who has ARFID who said it was the best scrambled egg he had ever eaten and asked for more and also told us to take note on how it should be done! Very well priced and lovely views will be back again for sure.
Great little tea room, found purely by chance! nice selection.
Good value, generous portions.
Beautiful anniversary celebration afternoon tea. Delicious freshly baked treats and amazing service in a wonderful venue.
Lovely sunny garden, orchard-esk. Good portion sizes V Prices. Much larger place than anticipated, would be wonderful for a private hire party. Large cake selection & treaty ice cream/ sorbet flavors (blackcurrant sorbet, cherry swirl).
We went to Northney Tea Rooms for Fathers Day. Great service, great food and a dog friendly environment. Anna was excellent and the food was big portions. Look out for Steve the Seagull, he is massive.
I only leave reviews when I’ve been really amazed by the venue This place is not only beautiful 🤩 and a pleasure to be at, but the warm welcome from staff made the whole experience 10times better. Thanks so much for making our Sunday afternoon one to remember. Also roast was banging xoxo.
Best place for breakfast on Hayling! The friendliest staff and the loveliest food. Dogs are made just as welcome as people which is always a winner for us! 🐾
Wow!!! What can I say cream tea on Mothers Day was astounding. Beautiful homemade cakes, sandwiches and Pastries were to die for. In such a beautiful setting. Terrific value for money and all the staff were super. First time visiting won't be my last ❤️
Was going to give 5 star review based on quality of breakfast items, ambiance, friendly service and lovely setting but as we were the first serving on Sunday our potatoes nats were cold, weird being an oven of deep fried item and cold toast with cold butter on top that was staying hard. Beans were of nuclear heat by comparison. Will come again.
Visited on a Saturday morning for a light lunch after a visit to the nearby sunflower fields. Staff were welcoming and polite. Premises were clean, light and airy. Service was fairly quick. Ordered the cheese and pickle sandwich (always a good fallback option if you're not sure what you want, and there was plenty to choose from here). A generous sandwich with salad, coleslaw and crisps on the side went down very well. All level access and spacious interior so I would not imagine wheelchair access being a problem. High chair available for the little ones. Nice views out over fields from the outside seating area. If you're passing through and in need of a little refreshment try this one out.
