Edge & Son Butchers

Lovely shop with friendly staff. Heard a lot about it and finally popped in earlier. Better bacon and sausages than I can remember. Very important to support local businesses and people, and we'll be making this place a weekly trip from now on.

Excellent quality, locally sourced, free range produce. Polite and friendly service. Ethically reared livestock. Unmatched in tge area. Highly recommended 👌🏽

Wife went to the Little Sutton Artisan Market yesterday 15/8 Bought me a couple of Pork pies which I must admit looked lovely!! Unfortunately the eating of them was totally disappointing! Dry grey meat which looked like a meatball, taste was just purely of herbs no meat taste at all Never again will we buy from there.

Best and tastiest chickens we’ve ever had from Edge & Son. Also love that they can tell you where exactly the produce is from. Top quality butchers and such friendly staff.

The former Boysenberry Deli' next door has now opened as part of Edge. They're selling a range of savoury and sweet baked goods including pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs ( with black pudding in nom, nom!!) The lamb and rosemary pie is lovely; great pastry with a tasty, quality filling. Lots of other pies too. Check the opening hours but definitely open Friday and Saturday ( to start with) If ever there was a welcome addition to the rebirth of New Ferry this is it. Great team behind it. Go get a pie!!!! Sadly now closed but relocated next door albeit slightly more modest offer. Still good pies though.

Bought ribeye twice now and both were very disappointing — extremely poor marbling and tough even when cooked correctly. For the price, I expected much better quality. Supermarket ribeyes I’ve had recently were noticeably better. Won’t be returning.

Drove half an hour at Christmas to buy braising steak from this highly regarded butcher. The stuff they sold me was disgusting - almost all gristle. I cooked it for hours but had to discard it and rush out on Christmas Eve to buy replacement meat from Tesco. I was offered a refund and a chance to try their meat again by email from Debbie Edge but when I went back to the shop, (another hour long round trip drive, ) I was told that "we usually either refund or replace but not both". Interesting that they have to do this on such a regular basis that they have a policy in place! I got my money back but had a lot of hassle and didn't appreciate the unfriendly reception from Callum Edge that made me feel that it was my fault for complaining. Not the sort of service you expect from a former butcher of the year and, in my opinion, a butcher to be avoided 😠
