Excellent food and location. Lovely gift shop. Great customer service. I would recommend the breakfast rap it's filled me up for the rest of the day. I will be back🙂
Cracking independent farm shop with cafe. All the food in the cafe is cooked fresh to order using local ingredients including their own meat. Staff are friendly and helpful even when busy. Very well stocked farm shop with a great butchery counter featuring their own Pork and Beef, and signs up for the traceability of all the meat at a very reasonable price. Quality and value so much better than the supermarkets.
Popped in for lunch on the way past on a trip. A little bit unfortunate that a huge cycle group was there at the same time taking up the majority of the seating, but only a short wait for a table and the staff were lovely and friendly. Quite a long wait for the food considering it was just 3 sausages baps and some chips, but it was very tasty and worth the wait.
Lovely looking farm shop & grounds, cafe, farm shop & gift shop all separate which makes it a nice walk around. Bought 2 lovely flavoured chicken fillets which were lovely & chicken was beautiful and white. Nothing overly wow’ed us about it and other than the butcher staff didn’t say hello/acknowledge us.

Quite a busy hidden little gem tucked away on the north side of Northallerton..The cafe does Fantastic food, very tasty, I had the beef stew which was exceptional...The shop is good too, and there's a veg stall and little gift shop on site as well.. I enjoyed it and will definitely visit again.

You can tell real care goes into everything that comes out of the kitchen, and it shows. Easily some of the best café food around. The farm shop itself is excellent too, stocked with quality local produce, treats, and proper farm shop favourites – the sort of place where you end up buying more than you planned because everything looks so good. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff are friendly and genuinely happy to help, and the whole place has that relaxed, countryside feel that makes you want to stay longer. It’s spotlessly clean, well laid out, and clearly very well run. Whether you’re stopping for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake, or a proper browse in the shop, this place delivers every time. No wonder it’s so popular. We’ll definitely be back again and again – highly recommended. 👌🥓☕🌾
I enjoy going to Farm shops/ cafes Root Farm shop is in East Rounton, Northallerton Staff here are first class in customer service and friendly. Very clean. The food. I had a bacon, brie and cranberry toastie. The toast was over done and dry & the bacon; but the colslaw and dressed salad moistened the toast. My hubby had 2 fried eggs in a roll. I bottle of drink cost £21.40. I didn't feel as the Farm shop was fully stocked to potential. Wheelchair accessible Large car park.
Found this place by accident so glad we did. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the portions and quality. The coffee they use has a lovely flavour. Had the savory scone meal (why have I never thought of making a scone into a meal) it was delicious and something I'll be recreating (although not to same quality) Even the dressing on the salad was beautiful which they luckily sold in the shop so brought a bottle home.
