Killam & Bassette Farmstead has been farming in South Glastonbury, Connecticut since 1893.
Kevin Bassette started working for Henry Killam at nine years old on what was then a dairy and tobacco farm, and he and Chris Bassette moved it into produce as milk prices declined. Today the family grows quality fruits and vegetables, picks its sweet corn the morning it is sold, and produces free range eggs, award winning canned goods and all natural, non GMO USDA pork and chicken. They spray minimally, using integrated pest management with beneficial insects wherever they can.
The farm stand at 1098 Main Street is open all year, daily from Mother's Day to December 31 and Tuesday to Sunday through winter. The family runs three CSA programs, attends 18 farmers markets a season, and hosts farm dinner fundraisers for a memorial scholarship. The stand also carries Connecticut milk, cheeses, honey, maple syrup and pies from other local producers alongside its own goods.

The eggs I bought are 8 dollars a dozen. While the price is a bit high, you are getting fresh farm eggs. Their other products are natural but highly priced too.
Fresh and exceptional quality foods.
Great local farm-stand! Family favorite for sure! Plenty of local businesses represented here! Run by a family who cares about the community and supporting it! Great selection of produce and farm raised meats and eggs.

I enjoyed shopping here especially for the Connecticut grown produce.
My wife and I love this place! We CSA summer and fall and shop often. Not only is their produce top notch, but they're also a one stop shop for local ethically raised and processed chicken, pork, beef, and dairy! To add icing on the proverbial cake, the staff are friendly and helpful. It's about the real food! Shop the local farms and make the grocery stores send out a wellness check on you. 😅
Friendly service and some good products. But, I stopped for a fresh, healthier, homemade kind of pie, & later, after purchase, realized it was an unhealthier version made in some big pie factory in, or near Hartford.
We absolutely love Killam & Bassette Farmstead in South Glastonbury! We originally purchased a Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, and when we noticed the top had popped, they immediately told us to bring it back and swapped it out for a fresh jar with zero hassle. Their customer service is truly above and beyond. Of course, while we were there we had to try more the Pumpkin Pie Jam and the Carrot Cake Jam and wow. Every single one is incredible. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every jar. Their local artisan gift shop is wonderful too, full of beautiful items and that warm, welcoming atmosphere you only get from a family run farmstead. We only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often. Thank you for everything. You are amazing and we absolutely love your jam. We cant wait for our next visit! 🍓🥕🥧🧡
Awesome fresh veggies, eggs, and fresh untouched meats. Conveniently located in town and such a gem for health conscious eaters. The hot sausage was so delicious.. not overly spicy and not too bland. I don’t mind spending a little extra to know what I’m consuming and only putting real food in my body. Great, friendly, family run 💞
