The farm goes back five generations to Raffaele Ajello, who founded it on Great Hill in Seymour; his son Thomas moved it to 100 acres in Oxford in 1950, and grandsons Don and Dave Rich took over the dairy in the early seventies and continue to operate the farm today. All of the ice cream is made daily on the farm using an all natural mix with no corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, growth hormones, polysorbates or phosphates. The Connecticut Department of Agriculture honoured the family for running a Dairy Farm of Distinction for beauty and high quality milk, an honour that still stands. The Oxford shop is open seven days a week, with sister shops in Bristol and Middlefield and a franchise in Placentia, California.

Rich Farm Ice Cream Shop
Will always be some of the best ice cream in ct!! The fall flavors are so good!! So many flavor options, they have sugar free too and dairy free. Lots of toppings. Even tho the line is long the wait goes by quick, you get your ice cream from the same window you order it from all at the same time so there’s no waiting after you place your order. If you’re lucky the cows will be out and you can get to see them up close. Beautiful animas!
