We wanted to support a local farm and were excited to source grass-fed, grass-finished beef suet from Grove Ladder Farm for skincare production. Before ordering, we called to verify product availability and details. It was somewhat difficult to reach Tim, but we eventually connected and placed an order. To their credit, the packaging was excellent. The shipment arrived well-packed with dry ice and was handled professionally. Unfortunately, the product itself was the poorest quality suet we've received from any local farm. (See attached photo: Grove Ladder Farm's "suet" is on the left, compared to suet from another local farm on the right.) We've purchased suet from roughly six different farms in the area, and this was the only order that arrived heavily mixed with meat and beef trimmings. In our estimate, 30–50% of the product consisted of attached meat rather than clean suet, making it unsuitable for our intended use in skincare production. What disappointed us most was the lack of follow-up. My wife and I made multiple attempts over several weeks to contact Tim about the issue, leaving messages that were not returned. When we finally reached him months later, he stated that the problem likely originated with the butcher and said he would look into it and call us back. We never received a follow-up, and subsequent calls went unanswered. We were dissapointed we didnt receive an apology or an offer to make it right. We understand that mistakes happen, especially with small farms, and we were prepared to give them another opportunity. However, the combination of poor product quality and the lack of communication ultimately left us very disappointed. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.
I spent $850 for 1/4 of a cow hoping for tasty, fresh beef for my family. Instead I ended up with terribly tough beef with little flavor that is nearly inedible. I was told that it was due to the cattle being entirely grass fed and I need to prepare the beef in a specific manner. I've tried every cooking technique including what they recommended. Nothing improves the eating experience. I would have been much better off spending $850 at the Fresh Market who has very tasty steaks. Others may have a different opinion or appreciate super chewy, tough meat, but I was extremely disappointed.
Very professional and rotating hen house. Pastured Eggs, grass fed meat, raw milk many pick up points if not close.
This is the best farm. We get all our meat here and it is exceptional every time. The homemade bread and sourdough cookies are amazing!!
Incredible tasting meats, this is the only place I will be getting meat from. Wide variety to choose from, always high quality from the baked goods to the beef shares Grove Ladder Farms always impresses me. Highly recommended.
As I became more aware of the world situation, I became concerned about safety and quality of food sold at large grocery stores in this country. I am so happy to have found Grove Ladder Farm as an alternative, as I would much rather eat locally and sustainably grown food and support local farmers/ranchers at the same time! Their ordering and pickup process is simple and streamlined. I usually get eggs and sometimes chicken and beef. Seeing Tim’s friendly face at the pickup has become a wonderful part of my weekend routine.
