Hawthorne Valley Farm Store is the retail arm of Hawthorne Valley Farm in Ghent, New York, part of the nonprofit Hawthorne Valley Association.
The land has been cultivated by biodynamic farmers and gardeners for over 50 years, and the store sells the farm's own biodynamic produce, raw and pasteurised milk, yogurt, artisanal cheese, organic breads and pastries, and daily prepared hot and cold meals, all made on site.
The store is a full line organic grocery as well as a farm shop. It carries products from 45 local and regional farms, stocks 316 biodynamic products, runs UNFI and fresh produce buying clubs, and serves around 235,000 customers a year. It anchors a wider campus that includes a Waldorf school, summer camps and a farmscape ecology programme, and a self guided biodiversity trail begins behind the store. The store also runs the Double Up Food Bucks programme for SNAP customers.

What a beautiful store and equally beautiful employees. It is so hard to find clean and organic food anymore. I am very grateful for everything this store offers. No need to shop anywhere else!
Interesting store with mostly high prices especially produce.
I love coming here. Great selection and strong sense of community. I'm not sure why the raw milk is $15/gallon, the price has increasingly gone up over the years. Also, the artichokes that I bought were not fresh. But a wonderful place that I recommend and plan to return to.
