Slack Family Farm is Jeremy and Kelly Slack's small family farm in Mount Perry, Ohio, milking a few Jersey cows that are all tested 100% A2/A2.
Ohio does not allow raw milk sales, so the farm runs a herdshare: share owners buy into the milking herd and collect a half gallon of fresh raw milk per share each week, bottled in glass jars and chilled straight after milking, with nothing added or removed.
The cows are pastured through spring, summer and fall, fed the farm's own non GMO grain at milking and high quality forage in winter, and the herd is health checked yearly with the vet and tested for TB, brucellosis and Johne's disease. When milk is plentiful the family makes cream and 24 hour yogurt for share owners, with sour cream and freeze dried raw milk on the way. The farm also sells sweet corn and bagged feed corn, and never sells on Sunday.
