They started as a conventional dairy, moved to organic in May 2007, and in June 2016 took the Jersey herd fully grass fed, organic and rotationally grazed, a shift the family says brought clear health benefits in the herd. The couple are raising five children on the farm. The milk is raw, sold through a herdshare that gives families nutrient dense dairy from a farm they can know and trust. The cows move through fresh paddocks on pasture, which the family credits for milk that is richer, creamier and full of real flavour. The farm is on Township 654 outside Millersburg, and the family answers by phone or email to arrange shares.

The Doughertys wrote The Independent Farmstead, published by Chelsea Green in 2016, and their current site, The One Cow Revolution, chronicles the farm in detail, with posts through August 2026 covering grazing, cheesemaking, butchering workshops and the dairy year. Share availability was last posted in August 2019, so ask before travelling.

Pasture raised turkeys follow in the autumn for the holidays, and they ask you to call in September or October to reserve one. The farm store on London Rd is self serve with self checkout, open every day from 8am to 8pm, 365 days a year including holidays, with no appointment and no online ordering. Alongside their own meat and eggs the coolers and shelves hold raw honey, sold local and unfiltered, and A2/A2 raw milk from their partner Sweet Grass Dairy, which milks 100 percent grass fed cows on 140 certified organic acres and has the milk tested weekly by a third party lab. In accordance with Ohio law that raw milk is labelled for pet use only. The general store carries more than 150 further products the family has vetted to a non GMO, organic or all natural standard, and wholesale delivery is offered on bulk orders over 500 dollars. Circleville is a 20 to 30 minute drive south of Columbus.
