Veldhuizen Cheese is a farmstead creamery at Dublin, Texas making over twenty raw milk cheeses from its own grazing cow herd and sheep flock, with farm tours and a shop.
Veldhuizen Cheese is a farmstead creamery on County Road 299 outside Dublin, Texas, begun in January 2000 by Stuart and Connie Veldhuizen and their seven children.
They raised twenty baby calves to milking age, started with a single variety of cheese, and now make more than twenty. Four generations of the family work in the daily operation, and their daughter Rachael started the sheep flock in 2015 with Awassi ewes, later adding Lacaune and East Friesian.
Only milk from their own herd of cows and flock of sheep, grazing their own pastures, is turned into cheese at the on farm creamery. It is never heated above 100 degrees, never homogenised, never pasteurised and never separated, and on cheese making mornings it is not even chilled: it is piped straight into the vat. Everything starts with the soil, so they plant crops for the cows to graze year round and use no chemicals or insecticides. More than sixty wheels a week are aged in a cave built into the side of a hill, from two months to beyond two years, each one coated and labelled or hand washed with brine until a natural rind forms. Cheese making tours and farm tours run for visitors, and the Cheese Club box is released four times a year with cow and sheep cheeses chosen by the cheesemakers.

A charming little cheese shop with delicious homemade products. You can choose a few varieties to try. Good cheese, far superior to supermarket quality.

Amazing people with awesome products! If you have not tasted their cheese you are really missing out. Best dairy products I know of.
