Llangattock ApiariesHoney farm in Crickhowell4.8 (106 reviews)Llangattock Apiaries produces raw Welsh honey from its own hives near Crickhowell in South Wales. The honey is unpasteurised and small batch, going straight from hive to jar with nothing added and nothing taken away, and the beekeeping is done with bee welfare and biodiversity in mind.
Everything is sold online and delivered across the UK. Alongside runny, soft set and heather honeys there are infused varieties, honeycomb, bee pollen, bee bread, royal jelly, beeswax candles, soaps and gift sets, and the team also sell bees and will happily talk you through setting up a hive of your own. - 2
Graig Farm OrganicsButcher in NewtownGraig Farm Organics is an organic meat producer at Tyn y Fron, Mochdre, near Newtown in Powys, proudly 100% organic with award winning produce. The meat comes from grass fed, free ranging animals of native breeds reared to high standards of welfare, and the butchery is done on site by the farm's own team.
The range runs from organic beef, lamb, pork and chicken to mutton, goat, turkey, duck and goose, with sustainably caught fish, organic salmon and wild game such as venison, rabbit and pheasant besides. Orders go out by delivery across the UK, with meat boxes and multibuys, and the food cupboard adds preserves, tea, coffee, wine and beer. - 3
Dyfi DairyRaw milk farmDyfi Dairy is run by Sophia and Scott, first generation tenant farmers milking Jersey cows and goats near Machynlleth. They farm to enrich the land, building topsoil and encouraging biodiversity, and the animals graze diverse, herb rich pasture with hedgerows and trees to browse, with no harsh chemicals or routine antibiotics.
The milk is used raw or gently pasteurised at a lower temperature for longer, which protects its structure and nutrition, and the range takes in yogurt, halloumi, goat milk, fudge and soap. Fudge and soap can be posted, and everything else is collected on pickup days in Machynlleth on Wednesday and Saturday or Aberystwyth on Tuesday.
