Inspire FarmsRaw milk & eggs · Mesa4.8 (361 reviews)Inspire Farms is a small family run feed shop and farm store in downtown Mesa, Arizona, started by Tiffiny Lilley to make organic, non GMO animal feed easy to buy without ordering in bulk. It has grown into a local food hub, stocking goods from local family owned farms that avoid GMOs, antibiotics and hormones, with clear information about where each product comes from.
The shelves cover eggs and dairy including raw milk products, meats, bread and pastries, honey, coffee and grocery staples, alongside poultry feed, whole grains, chicks and beekeeping supplies. Shop in person seven days a week or arrange local delivery.
Chiricahua Pasture Raised MeatsRaw milk, meat & eggs · Cochise5 (182 reviews)Chiricahua Pasture Raised Meats is a small family farm at Cochise in Southeastern Arizona, run by Josh and Tara Koehn. The cattle and lambs are 100% grass fed and grass finished with no grains, hormones or antibiotics, while the pigs and poultry live on pasture with a supplement of grain milled on the farm, and rotational grazing keeps the animals moving onto fresh ground.
The online store sells beef, pork, lamb, chicken, eggs and holiday turkeys, along with raw milk from Desert Oasis Family Farm and Desert Brand pistachios. Orders go out by UPS home delivery or can be collected from neighbourhood pickup locations.
Blue Sky Organic FarmsFruit, veg & eggs · Litchfield Park4.6 (253 reviews)Blue Sky Organic Farms is a certified organic family farm on the west side of Phoenix, growing since 1995. David, the farmer, cooked in prestigious restaurants before he traded the kitchen for the fields, on the view that an exceptional dish starts with an exceptional ingredient. The farm is certified by California Certified Organic Farmers, grows everything from organic, non-GMO, untreated seed under USDA National Organic Program rules, and holds the USDA Harmonized GAP Plus audit for food safety. Beside the vegetables there is a pasture raised laying flock, which lays the farm's certified organic nest run eggs and lives out its retirement here, plus an ever growing herd of Nigerian and Nubian goats sharing the pasture with ducks, a goose and rescue horses, donkeys and pigs. The farm cannot sell the goats' milk, so it turns it into Blue Sky goat milk caramels.
Buy direct at the on-site Farm Store, the green building with the bright yellow door at the end of the gravel road, or through the Farm Box program, formerly a CSA, which is a weekly or bi-weekly share of the harvest. Their produce also reaches the Downtown Phoenix and Gilbert farmers markets, local restaurants, and independent retailers and co-ops around Arizona. The Farm Store leads with their own harvest and then a local shelf: honey from a local beekeeper whose hives sit on the farm, fresh bread and cheese from nearby makers, and locally sourced grass fed meat and raw milk from other producers. The store accepts EBT SNAP and takes part in Double Up Food Bucks. There is no delivery, though pre-ordered Farm Boxes and retail orders can be collected from pickup points around the valley.
Steadfast FarmFruit, veg & eggs · Mesa4.8 (152 reviews)Steadfast Farm is a two acre bio intensive market farm in Mesa, Arizona, growing fruits, vegetables and cut flowers using organic practices and raising pastured poultry for eggs all year round.
