The best farms

  1. 1Abiding Acres Farm StoreButcher in Delavan5 (14 reviews)Abiding Acres Farm is the Fell family's farm at Delavan in Wisconsin, raising 100% grass fed Red Devon beef, Katahdin lamb, pastured pork, poultry and eggs. Animals are raised naturally, without GMO feed, antibiotics or growth hormones, with the cattle and sheep out on pasture and the pigs and birds given the run of the outdoors. Meat and eggs are sold from the farm store on State Road 50, and you can order ahead for on farm pickup. The store opens Tuesday to Saturday.
  2. 257 Farm StoreFarm shop in Sturgeon Bay5 (11 reviews)57 Farm Store is a family farm just north of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, in Door County. The family grows vegetables and raises pastured chicken alongside grass-fed, grass-finished beef, all sold from their farm store on Highway 57. The store runs on the honour system, so you shop and pay on trust. Eggs, fresh veg and meat fill the shelves from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and the family are happy to share recipes, storage tips and a chat when they are about. Pets need to stay in the car though, since the farm dogs consider the property their own.
  3. 3Serenity Meadows PMASerenity Meadows PMAHoney farm in Black Creek5 (3 reviews)Serenity Meadows PMA is a family operated, pasture based farm in Black Creek, Wisconsin, raising grass fed beef alongside pasture raised chicken, pork and eggs. Seasonal produce, canned goods, jams, maple syrup and honey fill out the year, with availability shifting season by season. The farm runs as a private membership association, so you join as a member first, which opens the private online shop and the current list of farm products. Most items are collected locally at the farm, which is open through the week and on Saturday mornings.
  4. 4TSThree Sisters Farm LLCButcher in OsceolaThree Sisters Farm is a small family farm in Osceola, Wisconsin, started when the family traded a conventional home for a life raising their own food. Years of homesteading and research came first, and the farm now follows regenerative methods, letting the health of the land guide how the animals are kept. The farm raises pasture raised poultry and sells it directly to customers, with delivery available. There are no set opening hours, so contact the farm to arrange a time to collect.
  5. 5MAMidnite-Blu AcresHoney farm in BoydMidnite-Blu Acres is a family farm at Boyd, Wisconsin, where the Christoph family raise dairy cattle, chickens and honey bees. They put their effort into the soil, using soil friendly fertilisers and keeping it in balance so the feed they grow is as nutritious as possible, and they hold to careful, ethical animal husbandry across the farm. Honey, meat and other produce are sold directly from the farm. There are no fixed hours and the web page we had on file is gone, so phone or email the family to arrange a visit or ask what is available.
