Thank you for a great stay! We had an overnight while walking the wall and had a great nights sleep and wonderful warm welcome. The facilities are spotless, the log burner was very welcome, just what was needed after a days walk! A special note for the friendly welcome (including the farm dog!) and lovely home cooked food.
Organic Raw milk and cheese. Superb.
Even though it's been a long time since I last visited, I will always remember you.
We stayed here whilst hiking Hadrian's Wall and had such a lovely stay! The whole place was clean and spacious, there was a wood burner which was a welcome source of warmth and lots of choice for breakfasts + tea/coffees including raw milk from the farm or more conventional 'shop' milk. We self-catered our dinner and could easily find crockery ect that we needed. The other hikers (a couple) that stayed the same night as us seemed very happy with the dinner and packed lunch provided. I would note that the public footpath from the main trail was quite overgrown and badly marked. There is a minor road that goes the same way which I believe is part of Cycle Rt72 which I would strongly recommend people using instead!
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up

Great place to stay, very welcoming. Slight detour from the wall, but well worth it. Paid extra for food to be provided and was not disappointed. Lovely and warm kitchen/living area which was fine for the 5 of us there. Might be a squashed if there were more. Kitchen had everything you could want, oven, microwave and hob. Breakfast was harty with a good selection of cereal, juice and fresh bread and jams. Lovely fresh milk too from the farm. Very pleasant stay and would recommend. Only 1 plug in the bedroom though, so charge electrical items downstairs.
Great find, this is a bunkhouse hostel on an organic dairy farm. Fresh raw milk in the fridge. Plenty of hot water for showers, heated by a wood burner. On site cheese shop. Option to buy provisions for an evening meal or packed lunch. Continental breakfast included. Close to Hadrians Wall walk, great for walkers, cycling or as stop by car. 3 options for rooms all with multiple single beds, fresh towels, duvet, sheets pillow etc.
This is a perfect stop if your walking Hadrians wall as it’s so close to the trail. The room I stayed in was extremely clean and a good size with 2 single beds with a pull out. The bathroom was huge and the water was nice and hot. As I was arriving late Denise offers convenience hot food which I ordered and was extremely greatfull for. Would 100% recommend getting the packed lunch, the ham was from a local butcher and was amazing. Overall really enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone!
Very nice stay along Hadrian's Wall walk, not too far off the trail. The stay here was well worth the short walk. We were provided dinner for a small price and got to enjoy it outside in the peaceful courtyard. Breakfast was a Continental breakfast and we were provided supplies for a packed lunch the next day. Well worth it!
