Askerton Castle Organic Estate

Disappointed: ( paid £453.25 for 27.53 kg of half pork... no kidney, no liver, no heart, no trotters.. specifically mentioned that we make our own sausages and choose which peaces to mince, but we were sent 2 burgers and sausages all with gluten and E300, not sure natural or synthetic - no one decided to ask if we tolerate gluten when someone took a decision to add them to the order. I also asked to leave all the bones in and yes, some joints and legs came with it but 10kg were thrown away or used for something else and we were still charged for them. So overall we paid £16.46 per kg of what we have received... and will have to give away all the sausages and 2 burgers as we cannot eat them... even though it says on the website that these can be made without gluten, but no one bothered to check this with us.. very very disappointed...: ( Tried to call and understand if we are expecting another box of the rest of bones and other parts or something like that, but I was basically told that this is what we were supposed to receive and glad we received it so didn't even ask why we were sent all the bits we didn't ask for as wasn't worth it obviously, didn't feel that the lady on the phone was sorry to hear we were confused and disappointed, just kept telling that we received what we supposed to. Hope I have checked all this before I made a decision to place an order, but never ever had such an experience before. We always receive what we pay for. Last time we received like 6kg of bones from the other farm, smiled at them at first but then actually used them in soups. Also, other farms always call if any changes have to be made so will definitely keep ordering from others, just didn't want to wait for 3 weeks.... a very painful and annoying lesson to learn. Hope at least the taste of other cuts will be nice.

Extraordinary meats. They have a great range of beef, lamb, pork & chicken. Paddock to plate, it just does not get any better! Highly recommend, the owners are very informative and a pleasure to deal with. Thank-you!

The highest quality meat for a reasonable price farmed in a way that cares for the local environment. So much better than the supermarket, they even deliver. Cannot recommend enough. I’ve nearly halved my food bill by buying a local meat box and a local veg box.

It was easy to order meat.It was delivered on the agreed date. Everything was well packaged. The meat that I have already tried is delicious. Looking forward to trying the rest.

Nothing better than sitting down to Christmas dinner with an Askerton Castle Beef Rib it was absolutely fantastic lots of meals, rare roast rib beef sandwiches and even a tasty curry. Always love their meat and what great people to deal with.
