Oak Bowery Highlands is a livestock farm in Wadley, Alabama, breeding Highland and Pineywoods cattle and livestock guardian dogs and selling raw A2 Jersey milk for pets and artisan meats.
Oak Bowery Highlands is a livestock farm in east central Alabama with two sites, in Wadley and Lafayette.
The farm is best known for its AHCA registered Highland cattle, rare breed livestock guardian dogs of the Karakachan and Armenian Gampr breeds, and Pineywoods cattle, with Jacob sheep, Mangalitsa pigs and dairy goats also on the land. On occasion it offers other livestock such as dairy cows, sheep, poultry, donkeys or pigs.
The cattle are raised in pastures of lush grass with plenty of deep shade and water, living, in the farm's words, as God intended. Alongside breeding stock, the farm sells raw A2 Jersey milk labelled for pets, which is the legal route for raw milk in Alabama, and artisan meats. Buyers collect animals and products from either farm by arrangement.
