Food was old, not fresh. Prices weren't great. They DO NOT MATCH for EBT purchases. I checked before I went for EBT matching and I was informed they matched up to $20. They do not. Not an issue in itself. The information about this place was wrong. Lots of flies in and on the produce. Organics in the fridge were already bad at high prices. First time in. Won't be going back.
If you want actual, fresh vegetables straight from the garden, you have to check out A1 AG Farms. It is a wonderful, small, family-run business, and you can really feel the care they put into everything they grow. Don't let the size fool you—it might be a small operation, but the quality of their produce is absolutely outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, the way real vegetables are supposed to taste! It’s local, it’s fresh, and the family is fantastic. You absolutely must go and take a look for yourself!

Not sure if we just caught this place at a bad time because we heard lots of great things about it, and it was a constant flow of customers coming in and out. We can definitely see the lure to folks shopping here for what they had available. But we found most of the fruit in the bins to be passed their prime or rotting away. The customer service also much to be desired and was not as expected. There was one individual that barely even gave eye to eye contact with us and the other did not acknowledge us until we were ready to pay. Didn’t seem very friendly at all. But we did make a purchase and we’re probably will not return here.

A1 AG Farmer Market in Lathrop has potential, but it falls short in key areas—especially on the weekdays. The produce looks tired and overripe, with many fruits and veggies far past their prime. Even though prices seem affordable, the quality just doesn’t hold up—you really do get what you pay for. Some items aren’t even good enough to toss into a smoothie. It’s disappointing, especially for a place that calls itself a farmer’s market. Inventory management clearly needs improvement to keep things fresh. On the plus side, there’s a small nursery next to the market selling live vegetable plants for $2.50 each, which is a nice touch for home gardeners. And the clean restroom is honestly the best part of the visit. With better produce and freshness, this place could really shine. But for now, it’s more miss than hit.
I give this place 5 stars for the fresh produce and friendly owner. The only downside was that the strolling animals kept trying to steal my strawberries, but hey, it just added to the entertainment factor. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for some good eats. Just make sure to keep an eye on your snacks around those sneaky animals!
