Naranjo Hills Farm is a small family dairy and egg farm in Tracy, California.
Unpasteurized milk comes from their own small herd of Jersey cows and is sold through a herdshare, with pickup at the farm on a set day and time each week. They never skim the cream, so members take home full creamline milk. In the farm's own words the cows are primarily grass fed on premium hay from a local farmer with access to pasture, are given a small amount of alfalfa, barley, oats and beet pulp at milking time, are never fed soy, and have a mineral buffet available at all times.
The farm is a licensed egg handler and sells hand gathered, pasture raised chicken eggs from February to October each year, from hens that eat all the bugs they can find plus certified organic, non-GMO, corn free and soy free feed from a local mill. Four adult mini and midsized Jersey cows named Moochelle, Bluebird, Ballerina and Clover live here alongside a herd sire named Zeus, the herd is registered and disease tested, and mini Jersey calves are offered for sale each year. Six Maremma sheepdogs live with and protect the chickens, mini cows, potbellied pigs and goats from foxes, coyotes, hawks and wandering dogs. The farm is in the middle of relocating to a new 320 acre property.
