Meacham Urban Farm

First time visit yesterday, I had couple veggies, and sourdough bread. the unaffordability of price turned me down for sure. However, after I took a bite of some of those i purchased, i was blown away by the fresh flavours! Those vegetables are amazing! i took one star off just only $20 jar of honey is bit too much although I want to support local farmers..

Update #2: The ribeyes were delicious and my husband and I decided that meacham will be our forever home for food from henceforth despite the ground beef we had; we will learn to eventually get over the taste difference with the ground beef since we know the beef is healthier overall. Update: Though I haven't tried the ribeyes like I said I would I've been eating the veggies and sauerkraut from here and honestly I will be back to drive an hour to pick up these things from hence forth. The slicer tomatoes and cherry tomatoes are absolutely wonderful on top of that the sauerkraut is by far the best I've had. 4/5 I'll give because of how good the vegetables have been. Original post. I'll give a 3/5 because honestly I feel bad since you guys are such such hard workers on your farm. People here are wonderful, especially being out in the hot heat all day. The veggies are wonderful, absolutely love that there are a variety of the veggies and fruits even though it's slow season, however the beef isn't what I expected. Sauerkraut was absolutely wonderful and everything. It's such a cute little place to go to for veggies and fruits/ other goods. Though they are a tiny bit pricey for fruits and veggies, you can't get better than farm fresh and knowing you're not losing as much nutrients than the store bought veggies.. After buying a decent amount of beef today ( I really wanted to try a variety of different beef) So I bought the best things that you can't go wrong with, ribeyes and 80/20 beef. I bought all frozen ( except the ribeyes) for beef. My husband and I always bought whole foods organic, grass fed and finished $9.99lb 85/15 beef and we honestly wanted to try something better, farm raised local. I really really really wanted to like this meat, hence I bought a ton to try and was excited... so excited we drove an hour out to see if this would be our new home base for ground beef and sadly it is not. We sperated both ground beef from each company in a different stainless steel colander so we knew the taste of the beef wouldn't be affected in this process. We measured out the seasonings the exact same, cooked the same temp and even went the extra mile to change out gloves while mixing the beef in the separate colanders. Both meats were labeled on the seperate colanders to know which was which, whole foods ( our regular) in one and meachams farms in the other, both grilled seperate and put in seperate stainless steel clean bins, both labeled to identify which is which. My husband and I did a blind taste test, he put 2 burgers on separate plates, both the same ingredients on the burger; cheese and just bread( we kept it plain to see the taste.) My first bite was the whole foods ( in the moment I didn't know it was whole foods because my husband didn't tell me this until after I stated which I liked.) I thought the whole foods burger was the meacham.... Sadly it was not. I took a bite of the meacham burger and it didn't taste right, so I took a bite of the meat itself and compared both and decided I didn't care for the burger ( that was later told to me was the meacham burger I was dying to try.) When my husband asked which I liked better I pointed to the one I liked and his eyes widened and asked if I was sure, I was unsure so I tried both again and I knodded my head and he stated the one I liked was whole foods. I was in shock. Is it because I'm not used to other meat? Is it because of something we did wrong? We went over all the steps together on how we cooked the burgers and we couldn't find an error. We made them all exactly the same. So I thought, maybe it's just my taste buds? So I did the same my husband did to me and sure enough, he was dumbfounded about the results. We haven't tried the ribeyes but we are a bit afraid to in hopes we paid good money for a good reason. I will update my post when we do a side by side review of the ribeyes. I'll be back to fix my review to a 4/5 if the ribeyes are better than whole foods.

I absolutely adore Meacham Urban Farm, and I’m so grateful to have them as apart of our community. They grow a wonderful selection of organic produce right there on site. And sell them seasonally at their market. What they don’t grow themselves, they partner with the most trustworthy local providers. I love shopping here for their fruits, vegetables, and other produce as well as their great selection of local, pasture raised, grass fed eggs, chicken, and beef. They do such a beautiful job with their sourcing, and I trust them very much. I also love their community events. My husband and I have been to their monthly Sunday Supper, which is a wonderful community dinner as well as their Spring Harvest Dinner, which is a fantastic event with cocktails, live music, in addition to the feast. I live in Winthrop in Riverview, and I feel so lucky to have Meacham a short drive away.

I took a drive here to see the farm in downtown Tampa. It's a nice farm, limited vegetables, fresh eggs and grass fed meats but way out of my price range.

This has become our favorite weekend routine activity! Having fresh, organic, locally grown food options right in the heart of downtown Tampa is such a gem. Everyone is always so kind. 10/10 experience!

Wonderful local urban farm located near the heart of downtown. They have a plethora of in season vegetables and a myriad of other offerings like raw milk, honey, kombucha, sourdough bread, and other locally sourced products. The employees are friendly and informative. If you are looking to get closer to your food source and reduce your consumption of processed foods, this is a great option for reasonable prices.

I highly recommend visiting if you have never been! This is such an awesome demonstration farm in an urban setting. And they do an amazing job at utilizing all the space they have! The produce is extremely fresh, and the weekend markets are lots of fun. Such a great place for the community to gather and enjoy fresh food and other handcrafted goods.
