Meacham Urban FarmRaw milk, meat & eggs · Tampa4.8 (173 reviews)Meacham Urban Farm is a bio-intensive farm in the middle of Tampa, Florida, growing organic produce on site and pairing it with goods from other local organic farms. The farm store stocks seasonal vegetables, pasture raised meats and eggs, raw dairy, bread, honey and pantry staples, all chosen for freshness and flavour rather than shipping distance.
The store is open five days a week all year round, and during opening hours you can stroll the farm and visit the chickens. The farm also runs educational workshops and school field trips in peak season, part of a wider aim to reconnect Tampa Bay with where its food comes from.
The Dancing Goat DairyRaw milk & eggs · Tampa4.9 (109 reviews)The Dancing Goat Dairy is Pam's family run goat dairy on Maverick Court in Tampa, Florida, started in 2007 when she left a corporate career to turn a hobby farm into a working one. It calls itself the raw milk of Tampa Bay and it means it. The milk, cheese, kefir and yogurt are all raw, made on site from the farm's own herd, and the eggs come from free range and pastured hens, ducks and quail kept alongside the goats.
Pam is unusually open about how the herd is fed. Her blog explains that goats are foragers rather than grazers, so the milkers get grass hay around the clock, peanut hay morning and night, and grain with added minerals on the milk stand, following the Weston A Price guidance of one percent of body weight. Holistic care comes first, conventional medicine is used sparingly, and any doe given antibiotics is pulled from the milk line. Orders are collected at farm pickup in Tampa on Wednesdays and Sundays, or at a pre order only curbside pickup in St Petersburg every other Tuesday. The farm also makes goat milk soap, shampoo and shave bars, resells a cow milk line from another dairy, and runs as a nonprofit alongside Charley's Kitty Rescue.
HammerTime HollowRaw milk & eggs · Tampa5 (21 reviews)HammerTime Hollow is a small family dairy farm producing raw cows milk, eggs and other dairy products between Lake Panasoffkee and Tampa, Florida. The family's ties to dairying go back to Anne's great grandfather, who started Royal Palm Dairy in Tampa in the 1940s, and the herd today is mostly registered Jersey cows. Milk is sold raw by the gallon, half gallon, quart and pint, alongside raw Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chocolate milk, unwashed chicken eggs and local orange blossom honey.
The farm itself is not open to the public, but its products are stocked at almost thirty locations from Brooksville to Lakeland to St Petersburg, and home delivery runs across Pinellas County and parts of Hillsborough, Pasco and Hernando counties for a flat five dollar fee. Orders are placed by email or by text to Anne. As Florida law requires, every raw milk product is labelled for pet consumption only, the standard route for raw dairy sales in the state.Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up
