Loess Hills Creamery is Jason and Nicole Snyder's dairy about ten minutes south of Glenwood in south west Iowa.
A steamfitter and a former teacher, they met in 2006 and married in 2010, adopted their two oldest boys through foster care and grew to a family of seven before moving back to the country. Nicole was born and raised in Mills County, the daughter of a team roper and farrier and a barrel racer. Jason started building the fences, and after goats, beef cattle and dairy goats they settled on the dairy cow. What began as a hobby to feed their own large family became the business it is today.
The milk is raw A2/A2 cream top, sold by the half gallon and the gallon, alongside a raw chocolate milk sweetened with organic maple syrup, plain yogurt by the quart and cream by the pint. Their heritage hogs are raised outdoors in the timber and pasture from birth to harvest, are never given antibiotics, hormones or injections of any sort, and are sold as bacon, sausage, chops, roasts, ribs, cutlets and lard. The dairy cows get an all organic soy free ration at milking and the hay is a no spray alfalfa. Eggs finish the list. Everything is collected at the farm on a day booked in advance, and there is a waitlist for the milk because they are currently at capacity.

I called Loess Hills Estates directly for assistance and was helped with every step to move my father in by Julie. She offered so much support, compassion, and quick communication. She reached out during the process and after with updates, information, and guidance. The community is quiet, kept up, and friendly.
