Beauty View Farm is the Konecky family's dairy, beef and grain farm at Wahoo in Saunders County, Nebraska.
The family has farmed here since 1876 and moved into milking in the 1950s, after 14 year old Tom Konecky Sr won a tan and white Guernsey calf at a dairy judging contest at the Saunders County Fair. The milking herd runs to about 24 cows today, mostly registered Guernseys with Jerseys and a couple of Holsteins, and is managed by Melisa Konecky. Alongside the dairy the family grows corn, soybeans, alfalfa and rye, and keeps around 24 head of beef cows.
The on farm store opens 8am to 8pm seven days a week, selling ice cream, cheese and cheese curds, yogurt, butter, cream, eggs, jams and canned goods. The ice cream is made from the farm's own Guernsey milk and cream, which the family pasteurises before working with the University of Nebraska Dairy Plant, and the cheeses are made in partnership with Dutch Girl Creamery. The farm states plainly that no raw milk or cream is ever sold in the store. One hour farm tours run from May through October and can take in the milk parlour, the feeding round, the baby calves, the beef herd or the crops.
