Aunt Josie's Farm

Josie was raised on a dairy farm in Minnesota and has milked cows since she was a girl, hand milking a cow and two goats each day before and after school. She and her late husband Christopher bought the farm in 2007 and began milking that November, with two heifers from her parents' herd and a small milking barn Christopher built himself. The family milks year round, so there is fresh, clean flavored milk and cream in every season.

The farm is deliberately tiny. The family keeps only as many animals as they can care for properly, milking a few cows and raising pigs on the milk they do not sell, alongside chickens and a big garden. Josie, a food science graduate and certified health coach, uses the farm's website to share honestly what small scale dairying involves, and welcomes anyone who wants to talk cows.
