Pony Lake Farm is a small homestead in the wide open fields of south central Kansas, out near Offerle, where cattle dot the pastures between the wheat and milo fields and the mailbox sits half a mile from the house.
The farm keeps a herd of registered Nubian dairy goats in a goat barn and milking parlour the family fashioned out of an old farrowing shed built fifty years ago. Horses graze the pasture around the house, and a livestock guardian dog called Yeti keeps the coyotes away.
The farm's own About page says raw milk is available at the farm for purchase, and the herd supplies ice cream, chevre and caramel syrup (cajeta) by special order. Quality Nubian goats are offered for sale at various times. Most of what the farm makes is goat milk skincare: soap, lotion, balms, shampoo bars and candles, every batch stirred, poured and packaged by hand on the farm. Debby grows the herbs and flowers for the tinctures and balms, Linda sews the small quilts, and Wendy makes the face and body line. There is no published street address or set opening hours, so retail orders are placed through the farm's contact form and the farm calls back, usually within three business days.
