Slak Market Farm

Raw milk for human consumption comes through a herd share: members board cows and other animals in the herd, pay a deposit and an annual owners fee, and order the farm's signature products made from the animals they board, grass to glass.

The farm raises pastured cows, lambs, goats and chickens using organic practice and halal management, a welfare approach that considers the animals' care at every stage of their lives. Animals live on grass pasture and are fed hay in the barn through winter, with the milking cows given fodder grown from certified organic grass grains at milking time. Alongside milk there are pastured eggs, halal meat and raw milk soap, plus farm tours, cheese and backyard chicken classes, family farm stays and beginning farmer mentorships. Visits are strictly by appointment.
