Went there for my first time on a whim recently. After living here for 40 years now, I decided to check them out. Went in there. I was looking around. I was waiting to be served by one of the three people working the back. They seemed to ignore me for some reason. But then two rich-looking tourists walked in, and they immediately ran over to them and served them the last two steaks they had while I was standing there for 10 minutes waiting for somebody to talk to me. They literally only serve the tourists, and they don't care about locals. So, I will give them a one out of five star for being such a terrible local business.
Great people to work with. Been coming here for years to slaughter our pigs, both custom and inspected. Many options.
Great service! Fresh Meat.
They charged me $995 to process 2 pigs…. Did not box it for me. Did not have an itemized list of cut, hanging weights, the bacon hast hair in it. And the yield seem very light for the size pigs I brought in. When I asked why it wasn’t boxed I got a sighed at and they tossed boxes on the ground in the loading bay. Don’t ever give these people your business.
Best butcher in the Moosehead area! Fresh meats, decent prices! Two thumbs up!
I just left there I just moved to Milo happy to not have to hit Shaw's or Hannaford anymore for much meat now a days my step dad randy used to shop here when we used to live in Guilford I got the 280 meat package package 6.I can't wait to eat that steak 🥩 I got a great bunch of meat for 280 on my foodcard thanku Herring brothers I went across that covered bridge too that was fun, I only been across that bridge once, I'm glad the meat is well packaged too I used to get w.a bean meat packages but I had to separate everything and plastic bags are not cheap so I stopped buying from them yrs ago.
Rebuilding the food system, from the farm up

I drove an hour and a half to check this place out because a buddy had spoken highly of Herring Brothers when he stopped through a couple months ago. The retail store is spotless, the prices are competitive and the quality of the product is phenomenal. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Since I moved to Maine little over 2 years ago. I went back to getting my meats at a real butcher shop. I drove up on Herring Brothers Meats. I haven’t looked back. Great prices and high quality meats. I haven’t tried any other place. I drive over 20 miles just to get our meats and it’s very well worth it. I make my own Dogs food also and she’s so much healthier.
We have always had great beef from here. Meat is very tender and tasty. Have also had the bacon and the sausage. Always nice selection and whatever we buy is delicious. It's always a stop for us on the weekends.
