The Roaming Acres Farm
The Roaming Acres Farm is a family farm in Hartsgrove, Ohio raising pasture raised chicken, 100% grass fed Dexter beef and free range eggs, with raw goat milk by herdshare and raw honey.
The Roaming Acres Farm raises livestock and poultry on pasture in Rome, Ohio, moving them to fresh grass often.
The pastures get no artificial fertiliser or pesticides, just composted manure and the odd dressing of lime, and the animals eat non GMO feed from a local Amish mill. Meat chickens live in open bottomed pens moved twice a day and are butchered on the farm, while Dexter cattle, a heritage breed from Ireland, graze rotationally for grass fed and finished beef.
Free ranging hens lay eggs all year round, and the family also sells raw unfiltered honey harvested by gravity rather than an extractor, maple syrup tapped each spring, goat milk soap and grass fed beef tallow. There are no fixed hours, so contact the farm to arrange collection, and a herd share is listed on the website.
