Received our first order the other day, and it went straight to my freezer. Had to wait a couple of days before I could try the beef I ordered, due to work. Started with the ground beef, made hamburgers. If everything else I ordered, I got the Pati’s Verity Box, tastes as good as the ground beef, I’ll be a customer for life!!! I might even drive to Bastrop to visit the next cow I’m going to eat!! If you read this, don’t wait, order today!!

Customer service is outstanding. I had a very unfortunate situation happen to my freezers right before pick up and they completely understood and gave me a full refund so I could get my situation handled. Unfortunately, didn’t get to receive my half cow, but I will definitely be back to support a business that runs the way they do and cares about their customers.
Ordered 93% or Leaner Ground Beef. And I received about 85 to 90% at the leanest. Very frustrating when you follow very specific strict diet. Plus it took about 3-4 before I received my shipment. Only after I called and texted them. That same day I received an email saying it has been shipped.

I ordered half a cow last year and have been working through the meat hoping to find a decent cut. Everything is incredibly tough, the steaks, even the filet. I’ve tried the low and slow, I salted first for over 24 hours, I’ve tried marinating. The meat is lean but it just is sooo incredibly tough. This is the first time I ordered from Bastrop and I won’t again. I have ordered grass-fed beef from other butchers in the past and it’s been amazing. I asked a butcher for advice and he suspected the 1/2 cow I ordered might have been old. The ground beef has been good. Even for stew meat it’s really not edible. I am super disappointed.
I have been purchasing combination boxes for a year now and finally got half of a cow. No regrets at all because the meat tastes very different in a good way than store bought ones. They come prepackaged and delivered free in Austin. I cannot go back to store bought beef at all.
Great quality beef! That said, if you don't follow their cooking suggestions you may cook the beef incorrectly and think it's the quality of the beef. Made Sloppy Joes with the ground beef. It was flavorful without the typical greasiness of store bought ground beef. It cooks fast, so pay attention as you're cooking this beef. Also, there were some items missing from our order; mistakes happen. We got it shipped and delivered 6 days after the original pickup date. So, I can't give anything but a five star overall. Thank you.
Our Quarter Cow arrived today!!! 80lbs of grass fed grass finished beef packaged and labeled. Cooked burgers today! Greatness! It has been a long time since I wolfed down two burgers. Quality and assortment is outstanding! Just a couple of pictures! Its a lot of beef! Thanks Pati!
