Frank and Karen bought the farm in 2006 to keep a small piece of Vermont in agriculture and raise their daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, on a working farm. They are native Vermonters with roots in the area going back to the mid 1800s.
The farm is Vermont's only tier two raw goat milk producer, a licence that allows home delivery and farmers market sales while requiring milk testing twice a month at the state agriculture lab and yearly herd testing for brucellosis and tuberculosis. They say they produce milk for human consumption, not for pasteurisation. Raw goat milk sells by the quart and half gallon at the farm, at the Montpelier and Stowe farmers markets, and on delivery rounds to Stowe, Burlington and Montpelier, alongside goat meat, goat milk soap and cajeta, a goat milk caramel.
