The best farms

  1. 1Pembertons Farm Shop & DairiesPembertons Farm Shop & DairiesRaw milk, meat & eggs · Lytham Saint Annes4.7 (393 reviews)Pembertons is a traditional working family farm at Birks Farm on Ballam Road in Lytham, on the Lancashire Fylde coast, delivering milk to local doorsteps for three generations. Pembertons Dairies has been established for over 130 years, and the milkmen still deliver up to four times a week across Lytham, Ansdell, St Annes, Moss Side and Marton in returnable glass pint bottles, with pasteurised, semi skimmed, skimmed or raw milk available in plastic containers alongside cream, butter, eggs and yogurts. The farm shop, opened in 2017 after a 20 year plan in the making, stocks the farm's own free range milk and cream, a butchers counter of farm reared or locally sourced meat, groceries and a hot food pantry, with a Milk Cabin at the farm open 24 hours. The farm is also known well beyond Lancashire through Tom Pemberton's Farm Life YouTube channel, which shares the day to day of Birks Farm.
  2. 2Gazegill OrganicsGazegill OrganicsRaw milk & meat · Clitheroe4.5 (250 reviews)Gazegill Organics is an organic farm at Rimington in Lancashire that has been farmed by the Robinson family for nearly 500 years, now with Emma Robinson and Ian O'Reilly at the helm. Shorthorn dairy cows graze heritage wildflower meadows, and the farm keeps traditional British rare breeds, farming at low intensity with nature and sustainability front of mind. Their A2 raw milk is organic, unpasteurised and unhomogenised, and the award winning online butchery delivers organic grass fed beef, veal, lamb, mutton, pork and chicken across mainland UK, alongside a deli range. There is a farm shop at Gazegill itself, open Monday to Saturday.
  3. 3Farm on the FellFarm on the FellRaw milk & meat · Preston4.7 (52 reviews)Farm on the Fell is a cow with calf dairy at Big Blindhurst Farm in Bleasdale, Lancashire. Calves stay with their mothers and share the milk, and the small herd of Jersey and Jersey cross cows is milked just once a day in the morning. The raw milk is sold on the farm and made into gelato in the farm's own processing room, and they also rear rare breed pork and 100% pasture fed beef. The farm shop is open every day from 8am to 8pm with a raw milk vending machine, the gelato shop opens at weekends, and milk, gelato, pork and beef can all be ordered for nationwide delivery.
