The farm makes its own Maine maple syrup and keeps bees whose Wildflower Maine Honey is sold pure or raw, alongside jams and other Maine made goods. You can shop at the farm store in Palmyra, where cash, cheques and Venmo are accepted, or order online for delivery. The farm is open every day of the year, daylight to dark, and hosts seasonal events including Maine Maple Weekend.
  2. 2The Honey ExchangeThe Honey ExchangeHoney farm in Portland4.9 (100 reviews)The Honey Exchange is a family owned honey shop and beekeeping hub on Stevens Avenue in Portland, Maine. The team extracts honey for area beekeepers and jars it at the store, so the local Maine honey is raw and unfiltered, just as the bees made it in the comb, and it shares the shelves with varietal honeys from around the country, from blackberry blossom to tupelo. Beekeepers come for hive parts, tools, package bees, classes and the extraction service, while everyone else browses beeswax candles, soaps, balms, teas and gifts. Shop in person Tuesday to Sunday or order through the online shop.
  3. 3Swan's HoneySwan's HoneyHoney farm in Albion4.9 (58 reviews)Swan's Honey is a family run beekeeping business in Albion, in central Maine, producing raw and unfiltered honey along with single nectar source varietals. The range runs from their everyday Maine Beekeeper jar to wild blueberry, buckwheat, wild raspberry and gallberry honeys, and they make beeswax products as well. You can order through the online shop or call in at the shop on Bessey Ridge Road, which is open six days a week with a late finish on Wednesdays. The shop is closed on Sundays.
  4. 4Barters Island BeesBarters Island BeesHoney farmBarters Island Bees is a small honey farm run by Donna and Denny Denniston from Boothbay, Maine. The honey is raw and natural, produced right there on Barters Island, and the business gives back as it grows, supporting environmental causes and a local organisation working to reduce hunger in Lincoln County, Maine. The range includes natural raw honey, Bee Stinger hot honey, beeswax candles and gift baskets, along with Maine Mousse creamed honeys in flavours such as blueberry lemon, gentle ginger, cinnamon and orange cranberry. Everything is sold through the online shop for delivery rather than at a farm gate.
